- America's students are studying abroad in record numbers, with Miami University ranking 25th nationally among comparable universities in undergraduate participation, according to The Open Doors 2008 report by the Institute for International Education.

- Five Miami University students who are peer health educators will present at the BACCHUS Network General Assembly in Columbus, Nov. 14-15. The students are HAWKS (Health Advocates for Wellness Knowledge and Skills) from Miami's office of health education.

- New academic journal to be housed at partnership office
- The National Network for Education Renewal (NNER) awarded Miami University's partnership office the opportunity to house the organization's first academic journal, Education in a Democracy: A Journal of the NNER. The first three editions will be co-edited by John Skillings and Tom Poetter of Miami, and John Anderson of University of Nebraska-Kearney.
